'Barkston Junction .'

Barkston Junction was to the north of
Grantham Railway Station on the ECML and was closed when the new Allington Cord opened.
The old Barkston Junction with Central Trains 153325 with a train to Crewe heading south for Grantham along the ECML were it will reverse in the station and and head west for Nottingham by way of Allington junction
Barkston Junction was to the north of
Grantham Railway Station on the ECML and was closed when the new 11 million pound Allington Cord opened. It hard to think at one time there was a station here. The track down to the Nottingham Sleaford line has been removed can still just be made out from passing trains
Most passenger trains now from Skegness to Sleaford to Nottingham call at Grantham. These now go under the ECML and the main A1 road be for they turn back at Allington Junction round the new cord towards Grantham on the Nottingham line . This has helped timekeeping, as these trains do not have to wait for a path on the ECML, as they now do not use it.
At Grantham station the Nottingham line from Allington junction runs alongside the ECML and most trains use the bay or the rear platform in Gratham station
Trains to Sleaford and Skegness have to now leave Grantham station to the west by way of the Nottingham line, and use the new CORD that was put in at Allington Junction

The train has had to cross over the up line. It hard to think there was station here, now there is not even a junction.
