LNER A4 Class 4-6-2 no 60009 Union of South Africa with the 'RAF 100'. This train was Steam and Diesel hauled (DB class 66009) between Lincoln and Kings Cross. The train was coming slowly into platform 3 about 8-30 am at Peterborough railway station to pick up passengers on the 10th of July in 2018. This train was to mark the 100 years of the RAF.

Platform 3 was, and still is, the up fast so trains are doing about 100 miles a hour, so keep well behind the yellow lines!
This platform was part of the upgrade at Peterborough railway station. New lifts were added to this new platform. There was a small strip of waste land between the old platform 3 and the up fast line were a new platform face was built making it into an island platform. This new platform face is now platform number 3.
