LNER class 91101 Flying Scotsman still with its Virgin logos in a damp platform 1 at Peterborough on the 8th of September 2018 at the rear of a London train to Kings Cross.
LNER takes over from VIRGIN EAST COAST
On Sunday the 24th June 2018 The Virgin East Coast franchise operated by the private companies Virgin and Stagecoach branded as Virgin Trains East Coast (VTEC) ended
London North Eastern Railway (LNER) took over on Sunday 24th of June 2018. The East Coast franchise has been temporarily renationalised and will be run by the Department for Transport as London North Eastern Railway and branded as LNER.
Great Northern class 365502 in platform 1 at Peterborough on the 10th of July 2018
Thameslink class 700124 ECS into platform 1 on the 8th of December 2018
Class 67012 heading into the Depot under the old post office footbridge from platform 1 on the 15th of September 2018
DB class 66025 on a leaf full train comimg out of the Depot into platform 1 on Sunday of December 2018

Platform 1
The old Platform 2 at Peterborough station was renumbered as platform 1.
The old Platform 1 was the up bay platform and its track has been removed, so as they could renumber the old platform 2, platform 1.
The new platform 1 could then be used for the new 12 coach Great Northern servies to South London and Gatwick Airport as well as the up trains to London Kings Cross.
