This part of platform was added in 2014 and will be used when the 12 coach trains start. The 4 coach local to Kings Cross looks lost in this platform.

This EMU had been to Doncaster for an make over. Somethink was wrong with it, so it was in platform 1 for some time time while it was put right.
Great Northern class 365504 EMU ECS coming into platform 1 from the up slow on the 23rd of June 2018.
This EMU had come from the Nene sidings south of the station into platform 4 or 5 then crossed over all the tracks near Spittle bridge north of the station to the up slow or Westwood Yard were it reversed.
Platform 1
The old Platform 2 at Peterborough station was renumbered as platform 1.
The old Platform 1 was the up bay platform and its track has been removed, so as they could renumber the old platform 2, platform 1.
The new platform 1 could then be used for the new 12 coach Great Northern servies to South London and Gatwick Airport as well as the up trains to London Kings Cross.
