Goods avoiding line in 2015
This Page is about the new goods avoiding line added in 2014 . This was put in as part of the upgrade at Peterborough railway station. Trains can run both ways, but must go or come from the March line from the east. Trains can go northwards to and from Stamford line or ECML or Westwood Yard .
Platform 6 and 7 the new Island platform was built on were the old goods loops were along side platform 5, so the goods avoiding lines had to be moved. This one new line is along side the new platform 7.see photo below.
