This photo taken in 2002 showing the outside of Spalding station. The bricks have been cleaned. The road is new ( the good yard was were the road is) and there is a Saveway supermarket (2002) on this side of the road.

Spalding station is now only two platforms with only one very short siding.

The next page on this station is about the weekend of The flower Parade of decorated floats called "The Spalding Flower Parade" but train lots buffs in BR days also turned up just to see the trains.

Central Trains ran the services till East Midland Trains took over. Class 153 one car units were the main units used on the services between Lincoln and Peterborough in 2002 but class156s plus a class 153 are some times needed now.
